Love these wheels. I bought the attachments to hang wheel on cage, also the black runner stickers that do a great job of trimming my Snuggie’s nails. Silent is correct. Make sure u correctly hang your wheel attachments or it will bang. Internet has a video in correct installation- Kathryn O

My rat girls absolutely love this wheel! It is super quiet too! I bought the cage attachment bracket because I didn’t like the stand that came with it, I felt like the wheel was going to tip over because the wheel is very large which is a huge reason why I like this wheel so much; my girls don’t have to arch their back while running in it. I’m also going to purchase the self cleaning track and the open face plate to make cleaning easier and more efficient. I’m really amazed at just how quiet this wheel is, love it and so do my girls! -Jana B

Ava and Gracie have used their two 9 inch wheels for 3 years and have upgraded to the new 12 inch wheels. They race against each other and enjoy going back and forth with each other and try to run together in one. The two cage mounted wheels are silent and the "girls" love them. -Charlie W.

I got this wheel for my hamster and it’s the quietest wheel I have ever had. All I can hear is his little feet stepping. It’s pretty easy to take apart to clean as well, I do have to tighten the nut thing on the back sometimes but that doesn’t bother me as much as hearing a loud wheel. - Lizzy L.

At first we were skeptical cause the holes on the front were bigger than my other wheel i had bought elsewhere and we saw our babies fall out when running fast but they have adjusted to it. It feels more sturdy than my old wheel which I love and its quiet. You have to make sure you tighten it well when you put it in. My only complaint is that its a little more difficult to get it in and out for my weekly cleaning of their cage. But I feel because its sturdier that it will last longer, hopefully. -Karen M.

It came in the mail and the wheel base is not straight and tilts inward. And it is not normal as in the video its straight. Also, the bearing does not match the one in the video and does not screw on properly! After two weeks of use its wobbling and making an awful noise. - Sarah S.

This is my daughters second wheel. The 9” wheel started making a clicking noise a month after purchase. Not silent. The 12” wheel we just received started the first night. We have tried everything to make it silent to no avail. Not impressed as we are in Canada and spent US pricing and shipping. Love this wheel! Very quiet. Rats love it. Can adjust how easily the wheel can spin which is good for one of my girls who likes to go all out causing it to hit the cage and move around.
Cons: mounting it to the side of the cage made it noisy from the cage bars.
After a few months, using the stand, the wheel starts to droop and hits the stand, so have to bend the stand up a bit.
The sand paper wheel is difficult to clean and really traps in the poo.. Gets stanky.
The enclosed front that's supposed to protect them is actually not very safe.. Sometimes my rats will all jump on it, one will run, other will get stuck in the whole and flop around. My hairless rat had some cuts from the plastic edge.
Although lots of cons, that's just how it is with pets. I love this wheel more than any other I've had. It's a great product. Just needs some tweaking. -Michele S.

We are in Canada and paid over $100 for two of these wheels as I couldn't find anything like it locally. They are a great size for our teddy bear hamsters, but unfortunately the nuts on the wheels have to be tightened every day or two because they loosen up very quickly and the wheel makes a lot of noise and wakes everyone up in the middle of the night. The wheel is 98% silent as long as it is settled perfectly on sand or in bedding. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out the perfect position. Otherwise there’s a slight rattle of something nearby or the wheel itself. It vibrates a lot from my Syrian hamster’s running and that makes it shift in position or placement too.
The major problem I’ve recently encountered is that my 6 month old Syrian can shimmy her way up the back of the wheel base, stretch to reach the back knob, climb up and cling to the mesh at the top of her bin cage. Ugh.

Very quiet. Perfect size for my Syrian hamster. However it’s too high to fit in my current detolf setup. I have to build her a new cage topper to account for the additional height. Just something to consider when purchasing. She still has her 11’ Wodent Wheel which fits perfect in a detolf with a flat cage topper. -Lynette R.

Our Syrian hamster loves his 12-inch Silent Runner! He had a loud 5-inch wheel prior to this, which he quickly outgrew. He took to the Silent Runner right away. It took him one night to adjust to it, but now he jumps in and runs on it for hours at a time. This wheel was a great investment. -Nury G.

This is a good, quiet wheel. My syrian hamster loves it but it is just two inches too tall for my hamsters bin cage so he only gets to use it when I am directly supervising. I need to remove the lid for the wheel to fit.
When both wheels are in the cage, he goes to this one and will run for over an hour (short breaks in between) and only stops because I need to close the lid (and remove the wheel).
I have tried looking for a taller bin cage but have been unsuccessful. I really wish you had a ten inch wheel because that would be perfect. -Nikki B.

Absolutely love our wheel and our sugar babies approve 100%. We use the sandy track alot to help with keeping nails short and not so sharp. We did modify our wheel to not have the 3 holes as pictured and made it into one 1 large hole for them to be 100% safe for them since they do have long tails. My glider loves it however I do not. It comes loose multiple times a night. I’ve reach out to exotic nutrition and was told maybe the bearings were bad after only 2 weeks. They did replace them at no cost to me but I’m having the same problem again. I’m going i try and replace the black screw on piece on the back with a large wing nut to see the if that makes any difference. -Brittany C.

I just bought this for my sugar glider Mia and since she is a rescue that used to live in a small cage a couple years ago, I am not sure if she had ever had a wheel, but she took to it so fast! She really enjoys it and I highly recommend getting the sandy track so that your little critters have grip. It is completely silent and if you set it up right it doesn't wobble. -Diana L.

Excellent, completely silent wheel! My cream banded male Syrian's enclosure is in my bedroom, and I never hear anything unless there's dried poop loose in the wheel! It's a lot smoother than the Comfort Wheel, and entirely silent when compared to that thing! It also held up well against the pink non-toxic paint I applied on it! My hamster loves the 12" silent runner. She is a large longhaired syrian hamster, so she dislikes many wheels, but this one she got right on and did not stop! She loves to sit on the wheel to and just hang out when she gets a little tired. If you have a bin cage, I would definitely make sure there is no bedding under the stand, it will make it wobble and bang the bin.

Very silent wheel compared to other brands. Pretty sure my Syrian hamster squeaked the first time he tried it. Runs very smoothly and easily compared to the Kaytee Silent Spinner he had before.
Only concern is that the join piece for the track doesn't go clear to the back piece on the inside and leaves a little gap when it's all put together, but it hasn't seemed to give my little guy any problems so far.

We had a 9" Kaytee Silent Spinner for our first hamster (golden teddy). Was somewhat wobbly, but he liked it. Our new Syrian (black fur) is a little bigger/longer, and she didn't stay on it for long. We got her the 12" Silent runner and she loves it! She's been so busy on it, and sometimes just likes to sit and hangout in the little cutouts. She actually squeaked the first day she tried it! It is VERY quiet and smooth. Like the texture of the track. She was so active on the wheel, it did make some noise on the bottom of the tank, but we put a shelf liner underneath the base and now perfect. Worth the money for our little Melony! -Andrea M.

My sugar gliders don’t use it. They’re used to a different wheel in the cage I rotate them in and out of. This one it’s like they can’t even move it - maybe I need to loosen it somehow so it spins easily?

For the price, it should be silent but it's not. The entire wheel and base moves around as the hamster runs. It seems like it needs more middle support so it's not so unstable. It's very unfortunate that the Kaytee wheel (2ith the help of yarn wrapped around the between wheel and connector) is the best I've ever paid for a wheel out of this one as well as the wodent wheel. Not sure if you can take this wheel apart for I haven't been able to in order to thoroughly clean it. For now I wash it as a whole. -Shannon A.

I’ve had my hamster for about two weeks on this wheel and have to wash it daily, it no longer tightens all the way and seems very loose after about five minutes of him running on it. It has also started squeaking. With it being over $30 after shipping I would give this item a 3/5. -Samus M.

My sugar glider runs too fast and falls. She flies around. 15 minutes into using it and I took it out. The speed cause her to get stuck. It’s not fast enough for her. -Maci M.

In the beginning I also experienced constantly having to tighten the wheel, but then all of a sudden it worked properly. Many months later and I haven’t needed to touch it.

Two things very wrong with this product. It isn’t silent for long. I noticed that after a week the wheel would become lose and start making loud noises. This is unsafe because if the wheel came off it could have injured or killed my sugar glider. No matter how hard I try to secure it, it just keeps coming lose after a night or two of my glider running on it. On top of being unsafe it is a nightmare to clean. In order for it to be clean I have to take the plastic pieces apart. The urine and feces get into the nooks and crannies of the plastic and smells awful. So I have to take it apart and put it back again every day to keep it from smelling. Not worth the hassle for a wheel that comes undone and isn’t silent. -Delaney R.

I was given a 9 inch version of this wheel for my dwarf hamster and loved how quiet it was! So I decided to order a couple for my bigger hamsters, but that proved to be a problem. Being bigger and heavier, the nut that keeps the wheel firmly attached to the base wiggles loose and I’m having to tighten it daily or else the wheel starts to really wobble. I guess I’ll keep looking for the perfect wheel because sadly, this isn’t it. - Christy K.

I bought this wheel because my old Kaytee metal mesh wheel was driving me insane. My hamster is in my room, so at night, all I could hear was the SCHREECH and BANGING of that thing. It was absolutely terrible! My final straw was when one night (when I hoped to get to bed earlier) I spent 40 minutes fixing that thing... did my research and ordered this wheel the next day, and what a difference! My Syrian hamster already loves the size improvement, and it is dead silent! The only noise I can hear is the little pitter patter of her feet against the smooth wheel. It’s definitely worth every penny!

I give this wheel 5 stars! Its silent. My sugar gliders love it. Especially my female. The only thing is that she does like to chew on the inside of the bean shape openings so I'll have to watch that but overall its great! The shape of the openings really enticed them to try it out. I think we've had this wheel for a couple of weeks now. We bought it for our "fancy" hamster named Truffle. She loves it. We live in a ~425 sq foot home so it's important that the wheel is truly silent & it is! I had read some reviews saying otherwise so I was nervous to purchase this wheel but I don't regret it. It does have a little bounce when being ran on but it doesn't seem to bother Truffle & it doesn't cause any extra noise. The wheel came with the track with the holes in it in case your hammy uses the bathroom in their wheel, I was worried maybe her toes would snag in them but they haven't. I highly recommend this wheel. -Amelia F.

This wheel was the best investment for Peaches our hamster. She was able to run all night in a natural position. We were able to sleep all night because the wheel is quiet unlike other wheels. All around everyone was happy.

I got several wheels from them. My roof rats loved running on them, but the rough surface and sharp edges badly injured their tales. Many of them lost last parts of their tails. If you have a rat with a long tail, be advised. I recommend getting wheels with smooth and seamless running surfaces. -Brian S.
[Response from Seller: We're so sorry to hear about this issue, Brian. The running track does have a smooth side. Normally the textured side faces inwards to provide traction for pets, but in this case we would recommend reversing the track so the seamless surface is on the inside of the wheel. ]

I have this in my ikea detolf hamster cage mounted on the end wooden part and it fits nicely (you have to drill a hole in the wood). It would also fit on the stand if you have a lid that sits on top of the glass (not on the wires). I have the AutoCLean track with holes in it, the holes are big for her little feet but I think it works well and doesn't seem to bother her. I can faintly hear it spin but compared to any other wheel I've owned it's silent. -Rachel B.

My Syrian Hamster loves this wheel. It is a very sturdy wheel. The wheel is not 'completely' silent, you will be able to hear the stand wobbling/shaking. However, it is very, very silent compared to other commercial wheels. Assembling and disassembling the wheel is not the most easy thing to do. My hamster pees while she runs, so I have to disassemble the wheel once in two days to clean the urine stuck between the track and the covers. -Ahram Y.

I bought one of these for my (very large) Syrian hamster. I thought it might have been a bit big for him, but it's the perfect size for him to run without bending his back, which was always a concern with his previous wheels. I bought two of these for my two syrian hamsters. One of my hamsters literally runs all night long, and I keep them in my bedroom. She loves the wheel and runs very well on it for long periods of time, however it's not as silent as they say. It doesn't squeak but when the hamster runs on it, the weight of the hamster makes it wobble so it does make a noise while she's on it. -Bailey R.

I purchased this wheel for my Syrian hamster. I didn't too much care if it was silent or not, I just wanted something big enough for his breed, well made, and dependable. Well, it is all three of those things AND silent. My little guy loves his new wheel.
If you have any problems with noise or wobbling just keep fiddling with the bolt on the back. Depending on the issue, slowly tightening or loosening it will solve it. Once you find the perfect spot between tight and loose you'll have no problems at all (: I was lucky enough to get it right my second time tightening it. Just be sure not to go either way TOO much. A little goes a long way and patience is the key.
The plastic part of the wheel is very sturdy and thick enough that I don't expect it to break and the metal stand is very well made. For some reason my little guy like to lay on the stand when he's taking breaks. Maybe it helps him cool down? HAha. Either way both of us love it! -Courtney W.
