Sandy Trimmer Strips can be applied to any solid surface and act as a nail trimming tool for small animals. Your pet will automatically trim their own nails while running on their exercise wheel! Natural mineral abrasive strips are safe to use and apply directly to any solid surface exercise wheel or other cage accessory.

  • Includes: Eight (8) Sandy Strips per package
  • Apply to any exercise wheel or cage accessory
  • Flexible shape conforms to uneven surfaces
  • Easy-peel off and replace when necessary

Pet nails can grow to be long and sharp. Not only can this be painful to owners during handling, it can also cause your pet to frequently get stuck on fabrics, like pouches or clothing. Nail trimming using clippers can be difficult and may even cause injury to your pet if done incorrectly. Sandy Trimmer Strips provide a soft, abrasive surface for your pet while using their exercise wheel or other cage accessories. Simply install the adhesive strips onto the wheel and your pet’s nails will be naturally filed down as they run. These strips are completely safe and will not cause harm or discomfort to your pet. It may be necessary to initially trim pet's nails with clippers before using the Sandy Trimmer Strips. Then the strips will help keep the trimmed nail smooth through frequent use.

Warning: Use sparingly for animals with sensitive feet (Hedgehogs, Hamsters, Gerbils, etc.)

Instructions: Clean surface with rubbing alcohol- not water or detergent. Let surface air dry then apply strips. Press firmly on each strip for at least 30 seconds then wait 1 hour before placing inside the cage.

Materials: vinyl with 60-grit calcium carbonate

The Suggies hate the strips. The strips don't stay on very well either. Hard pass. Sorry. -Paul W.

I have used these strips for a year now, I have removed old strips and applied new ones without any problem. I soak the wheel in hot water every night to clean it and the strips stay exactly where they were initially applied. I do clean the wheel with rubbing alcohol before applying the strips. The strips don't bother my hedgehog at all, she runs on the wheel with or without them. -Heather E.

It really is a great concept but unfortunately the strips keep coming off. They will not stay stuck on the wheel. As soon as you put it on they fall right back off. -Donna.

[Response from Seller: Thank you for your review, Donna. To make sure the strips stay on, clean the surface with rubbing alcohol- not water or detergent. Let the surface air dry then apply strips. Press firmly on each strip for at least 30 seconds then wait 1 hour before placing inside the cage.]

I've gone to the cage of my gliders to clean for the day and found the stickies MISSING. They are VERY sticky when you first put them on Luckily it was NOT stuck to either of them and no one was injured but they have only been on their treadmill wheel for a few weeks so it's disappointing that they are already falling off. -Holly D.

My suggies would not run on their wheels with these on, kept them on for a couple of weeks, they wouldn't go for it, too bad, cuz they need their nails trimmed, not bonded enough yet to trim them myself, I guess my Leu's are picky, lol. - Lisa M.

These need to be a finer grit. The pads on squirrels and other little creatures that run on these are not that tough, and will develop sores.I personally used the ones I bought to sand a wood project I was working on. -Laura B.

I have a ramp in my syrians cage so i cut them in half and attached to his ramp. I think that will do the trick. He seems to be able to go up the ramp better now because its a plastic (slippery) ramp.

SOOOOOO easy to clean, switch, and/or swap out when they get too dirty from the gliders running like crazy in their wheels. They absolutely keep my gliders nails trimmed, and are reasonably priced. Plus, they fit into all wheel models that we have tried - so this is definitely an added bonus!
