Every year in the Fall and Winter I order the medium meal worms to feed some the wild birds that migrate to my area. The birdies love them! They went through 1,000 in 1 week. I ordered 2,000 yesterday. The medium worms are the perfect size and gives them the protein they need.
Birds must not live on seed alone but on every worm that comes forth from Exotic Nutrition. ha-ha - Erin T.

I ordered medium worms. But, what I received were tiny worms. It appears that I will continue to order my mealworms from my local family pet store.

I've been using these mealworms for several years. I breed Crested Geckos and Gargoyle Geckos and raise my own mealworms. But when feeding about 65 lizards I run out of my worms a few times a year. I always order from Exotic Nutrition when I need a new supply. My last order of medium worms arrived in healthy condition and were larger than medium. I was happy to see that. -Nicholas F.

My order is usually filled and shipped almost immediately. My mealworms always arrive with only a couple of dead ones no matter the time of year. I do usually get the hot pack in the winter and the cold pack in the summer just in case. Some times the worms are smaller than others, but I'm only feeding a couple of small lizards, so I keep the worms in a large plastic tub with some bedding and feed them veggies, and they grow nicely. They usually last me a couple of months before I have to buy more. Much more cost efficient than buying a little tub of worms from one of the big box pet stores, that's for sure, and the worms are healthier. I'm an Exotic Nutrition customer for life! -Rebecca M.

Ridiculously under sized. Most appear to just have been hatched. Ordered medium, which industry standard says they should be 3/4" long or bigger. These are smaller than small. Ended up throwing them in my garden and ordering from Rainbow. -John R.

Disappointed with the quantity of worms. There's simply no way this was anywhere near 1000 worms. I used to work at Petsmart/Petco selling worms to people. This was at best in the low 100s. I threw the newspaper ball that they came in to my chickens, walked down my deck and into the run with them and they were already down to the last 10. Worms were mostly alive except for like 3 or 4 so that was a plus. Next time I might try the giants though to see if they come with more bang for the buck. - Michael N.

I ordered mealworms with an added cold pack. When they arrived the cold pack was no longer cold but they were all alive and active. This is my second time ordering and I have not been disappointed. I live in Texas where it can get very hot.

Exotic Nutrition has consistently provided excellent customer service. They have been also consistent in filling the orders as soon as I make one. The mail service is not within their control so they have fulfilled their commitment to excellence in every other way possible. I highly recommend this vendor. Oh, and one more thing. Worms came back all dead unfortunately. I purchased an Ice pack in hopes they would stay alive, but none were saved. They came back black and crispy. I think the ice packs would be more useful if the box had some sort of insulation. -Dawn W.

Worms arrived alive and ok. They had to go through the Texas storms so I think delivery was delayed a few days until the traffic was clear to send the live worms.
I have been using Exotic Nutrition for doubt 6 years now and have never had a problem with delivery or arriving live. Recommend that you buy the mealworm food and a bag of bedding material. A small bag of each is all you would need for 2000 worms. -William T.

Live mealworms arrive healthy. A little work getting them out of. the newspaper and into a worm box. They have been living for two weeks with mealworm keeper, meal worm chow and a piece of potato or carrot every other day,. I order 1000 at a time which gives a couple of weeks to feed the bluebirds. I have 4 babies that survived and are eating every day. I feed them some live mealworms and more freeze dry meal worms. I do not overfeed them as they need to be able to forage on their own. It is a backup if they can not find enough natural food. Live in Southern California and we do not have a lot of bugs for them to find. They will normally stay around all year until next mating season and then the two dominate ones will chase the others away. -William T.

I received these yesterday. On the 4th day of the pricey shipping. (I'll take the blame for that after being pointed to their time policy)
I was disappointed to find nearly 100 dead. Of course I expected a few to be dead, but when it's 10% of the total purchased... I deem it to be an issue.
If I were to order again, I'd stick with standard shipping and skip the heat pack... Doesn't appear that either affected the quality of product I received.
Besides all that, the live worms are perfect for my leopard geckos! They're very happy with the purchase! -Kylee G.

The live mealworms always arrive in good condition. Getting them off the crumbled newsprint takes a little patience. I put them in wheat bran. They live at least three months, refrigerated. I remove them from the fridge once a week, sift out the spent wheat bran with a wire strainer, add more wheat bran and a small piece of carrot. I leave them at room temp for a day, remove any uneaten carrot, and return them to the fridge. My bluebirds love them! -Phillip R.

Most mealworms were alive however, their were some dead ones. I don’t mean freshly dead I mean they turned black already. Many of the mealworms are already turning into beetle pupae as well. Other than that the worms seem pretty healthy overall. I have many beetles now from the last shipment I had of these worms and am now trying to breed them:). -Katie M.

Fantastic healthy worms and very satisfied! My mom was being kind and ordered me 1,000 live mealworms without my knowledge. She wasn't aware that an ice pack should be included and that next day or expedited shipping should be chosen. It took 4-5 days for them to arrive ground. I had to be careful getting them all off the crumpled shipping paper into a bowl for separating. There were some larger ones so because they're sold by weight and the count is more of an approximate we received 872 with only 1 casualty! Very surprised and they seem quite happy with their new home! They immediately started eating and the lot of them finished off 3 tsp of food the first night. Hungry little buggers! 2 have pupated in the first 24 hours. Very interesting indeed. My sugar gliders are VERY happy 😊 -Amanda F.

I order these for my husband's geckos and Chinese Water Dragon. They arrived in bags and alive, when I added the ice packs as suggested. The mealworms are very lively with very little to no dead loss in shipping. The only thing I would suggest is having larger ice packs during the summer months. Nearly all came live, except a few! (naturally) I was so excited when they came in, and when i got to feed the first few to my Leo. She was quite excited too, since she hadn't eaten in a few days. She's not the one to barge herself on worms, and she knows when to stop and when she's hungry again. Her eyes and senses lit up when I dropped them in there! All were a really good size, and I'm planning on breeding them!

I did not expect these to come in a sack when I ordered them the first time. It was a rather large one that was tied off with the mealworms and newspaper inside. Either way, they definitely were lively and crawling around because my sugar glider had to chase an escapee.
DEFINITELY BUYING AGAIN! Arrived a day earlier, ice pack included, intact. If some of them were dead, the recipient of these mealies is unphased, and that's all that matters to me. Thank you, Exotic Nutrition!
